How to get to Bonn

There are two train stations serviced by long-distance routes (ICE, IC) in the vicinity.

► Bonn Central Station: this station is closest to the city centre. It is serviced by a several bus lines that run from their to our main venue, Campus Poppelsdorf.

► Siegburg/Bonn: this station is technically not in Bonn but in a neighbouring city. Especially if you are travelling from Frankfurt or Munich this stop may be more convenient. There is a metro link connecting Siegburg and Bonn (line 66) that runs every 20 minutes and takes 25 minutes to reach Bonn's city centre.

Bonn has a coach terminal, serviced by Flix Bus. The coach terminal is located right next to UN Campus train station, which is also serviced by bus lines 610 Duisdorf / 611 Lessenich travelling downtown. A metro stop (Heussallee / Museumsmeile) is also available within a short walking distance and offers transfer to lines 16, 18, 63, 66, and 68. Find the coach terminal on google maps here.

If possible, please use public transport to get to the conference as parking space is limited. Pay-and-display parking is provided on the campus.

Please let us know at least two weeks before the conference if you need a parking ticket, as we will need to mail you a paper pass.

For our international guests, we recommend travelling via Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf or Frankfurt airports.

From Cologne/Bonn Airport, the SB60 express bus runs directly to Bonn Central Station. Alternatively, you can take the regional train RB 27, heading towards Koblenz, and transfer after 3 stops () at Bonn-Beuel station to the tram line 62 (Dottendorf), which will take you to the city center.

From Düsseldorf Airport, a regional express train (RE5) runs once an hour towards Koblenz. Exit at Bonn Hauptbahnhof after ~1 hour of travel.

From Frankfurt Airport, several ICE and IC routes run through the Cologne/Bonn area. Please note that the high-speed connection from Frankfurt to Siegburg/Bonn will require a transfer via metro link to reach the city centre of Bonn.

Please use the Deutsche Bahn navigator app for finding the best route and purchasing your train fares.
